As if I needed another reason to call Beautyqueen my beauty hotspot/place to be/absolute favourite shop.
They do great mani’s (OPI!), they have Zoeva (rose gold brushes!), Pixi (Glow Tonic!) and so much more, and now Delphine is adding Anastasia Beverly Hills to her impressive range! Just click the tag to see how many times I’ve mentioned Beautyqueen…
Anastasia is a Brow Legend with many celebrity clients. There are 2 brands I trust for my eyebrows: Benefit Cosmetics and Anastasia Beverly Hills. So yes, I’m chuffed that her products will be available, not just in Belgium, but my beloved Ghent!
I’ve already bought some Anastasia products in the past, while on holiday in the USA, so let’s talk about those first.
The first items I bought were the Clear Brow Gel and a mini version of the Perfect Brow Pencil in Medium Brown. This was one of the travel value sets in Sephora’s Aisle of Doom, I couldn’t resist!
The Clear Brow Gel is good, it’s quite wet when you apply, but it’s the best of its kind I’ve tried, your brows will not budge.
The Perfect Brow Pencil is okay, it’s not spectacular. It applies easily and gives a natural look, but I prefer the next one…
…The much raved about Brow Wiz (€27,95), which I got in Soft Brown. All the great reviews are well deserved in my opinion, this is a great brow pencil if you want a natural look but can also be built up for a strong brow look. It’s very easy to use, whether you’re used to using brow pencils or not. I didn’t buy this myself, so I had to guess the shade, it’s ok for me, but I will check out the other shades in person to make sure. Because I will be repurchasing Brow Wiz!
That’s it for the products I’ve bought, now onto some I’d like to buy next…
At the very top of my Anastasia wish list is Dipbrow Pomade (€27,95) (shade to be determined in store), a creamy waterproof product to fill in and shape eyebrows. You can buy an Anastasia brush to go with this, but this would be a perfect occasion to use that Zoeva Brow Line brush I was so intrigued by, or one of my angled brushes.
There’s also a range of Tinted Brow Gels, which is a great product if you just need some definition, fixation and a hint of colour. If your brows are already nicely shaped, this is the perfect product that doesn’t require much effort. I might give this a try after using up Benefit’s Gimme Brow. Great for those days when you just don’t have a lot of time for you make up.
Not into liquid or creamy products? There are Brow Powders too.
If you’re overwhelmed by all these options but do feel like your brows are in need of a little makeover, head over to Beautyqueen for a treatment. In that case, Eyebrow Styling (€25,00) is exactly what your brows need and there’s nothing like beautifully shaped brows to add definition to your face. Brow maintenance is definitely something you can do yourself (especially with the help of all those products) but for that first shaping and sculpting session, I’d recommend a visit to the pro’s. Once in a while I let nature take its course, don’t touch my brows for a while (I don’t like it, but you gotta do what you gotta do) and go back to get my brows shaped, because it’s easy to get carried away with the tweezing as well…
To keep your brows looking great after the treatment, the Brow Kit might be a great choice if you’re just getting started. The Kit consists of Anastasia’s 5 essentials: tweezers, brow powder duo, stencils, mini duo brush and a clear brow gel.
Another option is the Beauty Express Kit (€49,95) which also has the stencils and brow powder duo with the addition of a brush and a highlighter duo.
Speaking of highlighters, the Highlighting Duo Pencil seems similar to Benefit’s High Brow, which I like but don’t reach for that often… I do like the duo aspect, you get both a matte and shimmery shade to highlight your brow bone for an even more sculpted and defined look.
There’s no exact launch date yet, but it’s expected to be mid April, as soon as I find out more I’ll let you know!
And more exciting news… The range will be expanded with non brow products (the infamous Contour Kit maybe?) in the Fall. So more Anastasia goodies to look forward to!
Another Brow Wiz, some Dipbrow, a brow styling session and maybe one of those highlighting pencils… That’s what I’m going for, see you soon, Beautyqueen!
